An ancient blend wrapped in the scrolls of folk medicine, legend has it that Thieves Oil was concocted by a group of thieves trying to avoid succumbing to the plague, which was widespread at the time. Thieves Oil has since been valued as a traditional elixir for protection and healing.

INGREDIENTS & BENEFITS

  • clove essential oil: associated with protection, love and prosperity. Often burned as incense to purify and cleanse a space, in some cultures it’s believed that carrying a clove in your pocket can protect you from evil spirits while placing one under your pillow can encourage prophetic dreams. In medieval Europe, it was believed that cloves had the power to bring the dead back to life.

  • lemon essential oil: according to greek and roman mythology, lemons were the dowry of hera, the bride of zeus. lemons are symbolic of longevity, purification, love and friendship and are said to be helpful in decision-making.

  • eucalyptus essential oil: the fresh energy of eucalyptus is revitalizing and invigorating. used for purification, protection and reflection and associated with the elements of air and water and the planets mercury and venus.

  • rosemary essential oil: rosemary means “dew of the sea” in latin and is used for protection, remembrance, cleansing, purity, loyalty and fertility. it’s said to ward of nightmares and attract faeries and good energy.

  • cinnamon essential oil: early cinnamon traders spread a wondrous tale of large “cinnamon birds” who flew to the cinnamon trees and harvested the sticks to build their nests, from where cinnamon gatherers had to trick the birds in order to steal the cinnamon. used for love, luck, protection, success, strength and prosperity.

  • lavender essential oil: softly floral and fragrant, lavender is used in ritual to bring clarity and calm to the mind and to connect to the higher self. associated with the zodiac sign gemini and valuable for improving communication.

  • carnelian: used to enhance self-esteem, motivation and creativity, to increase physical energy and overcome insomnia. In ancient mythology Carnelian represented the sun god Horus and his mother, the fertility goddess Isis.

  • fractionated coconut oil: colourless, odourless and easily absorbed, fractionated coconut oil leaves skin feeling silky and smooth without a greasy after-effect. It’s non-comedogenic (doesn’t clog pores) and is generally considered safe for individuals with tree nut allergies as coconut is classified as a fruit, not a nut.
